When our goverment %26amp; Private lenders gave amnesty and debt relif in billions dollars for the so called theird world and poor countries around the world, why not we get credit card%26#039;s debt relief here in America. After all, aren%26#039;t we the one not only who are paying tax for our government but also who are codemn to pay19-21% interest for those greedy credit card companies. May be we have to sign %26amp; send petion for our senators %26amp; congress to ask them on behalf of their citizen. But why the American government %26amp; corpoarate are hard to their own tax payer citizen than outsiders. The recent Bush%26#039;s immigration bill supported by the American corporation is a good example.

Let us suppose that the Federal Government did as you suggest and forgave all debt and paid off the credit companies for us and raised taxes by enough to cover the cost of paying off all of those debts. In other words, let us suppose a massive shift of assets from those without debt to those with debt. How long before the newly solvent debtors would be in serious debt again?

I would go along with that idea, if student loans were also forgiven. The rate on student loans has gotten as ridiculous as the cost of attending college. Our country needs educated people, and pricing them out of the chance for university education makes no sense.
