If he doesn%26#039;t show up the court will issue a judgment for the amount that he owes and the creditor will be able to put a lien against him and his property. His best bet would be to hire an attorney who deals with these types of cases and have him handle the case.

If he goes the court will want him to work out a payment plan. They will most likely work with him, he should bring proof of his income and expenses.

If he doesn%26#039;t go the plantiff will win by default and he will be ordered to pay by the court. If he doesn%26#039;t pay then his creditors can force him to sell off anything he has which is not necessary for him to make a living. He will have a lien put on anything of true value...Ie... his home if he owns one and he will not be able to sell it, or transfer it without the creditors okay.

He will not be arrested for not showing up... this is a civil case not a criminal case.

Oooh... this is big trouble. If you are being summoned, means you are being sued by the credit card company. If you show, the judge will most likely to see your income/financial situation and set up a payment plan or wage garnishment. If he doesn%26#039;t, he will be served an arrest warrant and his life is pretty much in the toilet. Take care of this ASAP. Good luck.
