Credit card balances when buying a home?

I have some credit card debt, but my husband and I own our own home, but want to buy again when we move. I have credit card debt, but it%26#039;s only in my name. We think we will be ok just putting it in his name, not even worrying about the credit card balance. But if we have to use my income, do they consider the card balances, or the payment history. I mean we aren%26#039;t like $10,000 in debt or anything, but I do pay on time as much as possible.

It depends on what kind of loan company you go with and how much u pay them ontime between now and when u get the new mortgage. I would talk to some people, but bring your own credit report, so they don%26#039;t keep looking yours up.

if the house loan is solely in his name you can have a million dollars of debt, if in both names all debts, income and assetts are taken into account
