You seem to be an ideal candidate for bankruptcy. Contact a couple attorneys, get some price quotes, and you should be able to get a free initial consultation.

Yes they can sue, they can get a judgement against your property and in some places garnish your wages, and guess what? YOU get to pay all the fees and charges it takes to collect.

Get them on the phone, work out some type of payment arrangement while things are settling.

You DON%26#039;T need your credit card debt as a lien against property you need to sell to avoid foreclosure.

Try bankruptcy chapter 7. Sounds like your best bet if it%26#039;s not to late.

you can buy some time by telling your collectors your in the process of Filing bankruptcy!! They may ask for an attorney name tell them you just began you will get back to them,, answer all phone calls don%26#039;t avaid them!! Tell them You Want to Pay !!! Don%26#039;t get to personal!! No matter what they ask you give them the respose I want to pay .. over and over,,!! I would look into local housing help! Some non-profit charities will , can help! I sympathize with you. Everyone seems to be against those of us who get too deep in debt. They don%26#039;t see the situations that get us into this. I am in debt 26,000 in credit cards. I have missed my first payments on all of them now and have gotten a letter from one that has been late 4 days. I am going to file chapter 7 but have to wait till my refund comes to do the credti counceling thing so I can file bankruptcy if I can find a lawyer to do it free or cheap. Sorry I can%26#039;t help, but my life has been a mess the past year after being stable all my life. Life is really hitting us hard. Good luck to you

Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the commonest denotation of bankruptcy. It stands for waiving or canceling of debts that you have incurred. As an individual, you can select between Chapter 13 or Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Selecting between the two is not easy. The bankruptcy court will study your circumstances before deciding which type of bankruptcy is applicable to you. The Chapter 7 bankruptcy is applicable if you have no regular sources
