Im new to this credit card business. I just wanted to know what happens if i dont pay off my credit

Some people panic about not paying off those credit card debts, but in reality it%26#039;s not really that big of a deal. It costs the credit card companies far more to keep going after you ad infinitum than it does just to write off the debt as a total loss and get a tax break. The worst thing that could happen is your credit report will be tarnished for 7 years, then it%26#039;s wiped from the report as if it never happened. You won%26#039;t go to jail, as someone said, that%26#039;s ridiculous. I%26#039;ve worked for a collection agency for 25 years, believe me I know what can happen and it%26#039;s not major in the grand scheme of things.

So don%26#039;t sweat it too much. Just ignore their idle threats, because they have no real substance. It%26#039;s just a scare tactic to try and get you to pay. Screw %26#039;em, get a bunch of cards, max them all out, then take bankruptcy. You%26#039;ll have everything you purchased (if you hide the merchandise), plus you%26#039;ll get to bone the corporate man, which feels positive. In 7 years you%26#039;ll be back to where you started. Heh, heh.

The interest with a credit card co. with break you if you dont pay the monthly payments on time.

The debt accumulates with interest and late charges. A collection agency comes after you. Your credit rating tanks. Your credit card gets denied. You can%26#039;t borrow money later to buy a car or furniture or a house. You won%26#039;t get hired for some jobs because background checks now include credit checks. And you%26#039;ll still OWE ALL THAT MONEY!

They will continue to bill you relentlessly. After time, they will turn your account over to a debt collection agency, who will also bill you relentlessly.

As unpaid credit card bills will negatively affect your credit score (nearly every single American has one) not paying your credit card will damamge your finances. You become far less likely to approved for a loan, mortgage, etc, should you attempt to apply for any of these things.

Employers may also look at your credit score.

There are many agencies whose purpose is to help you manage your debt and pay your bills on time. I suggest you search for one in your area- they may be able to lower your payments, or recommend a course of action you should take.

You%26#039;re a thief!

Your credit rate plummets. You could possibly go to jail. If you ever need money to buy a house or car, you%26#039;ll probably be denied.

Stealing is never good. If you%26#039;ve overspent and are having problems paying the bills, then go to a debt counselor for help. Ignoring the bills will create bigger -- much bigger -- problems in your life.

Coming from some one who knows if you dont pay your credit card bills you will get a bad mark on you credit report. This might not sound horrible, but good credit scores are needed to get any type of decent loan to buy a house or a car and are even considered when applying for a job. A bad score can keep you from getting a job. It may seem like a sacrifice now to have to pay back the money, but in the long run it will be worth it.

all the previous answers are true, in someways. they could also take you to court if you lied in your application for credit. bottom line, one way or another, you will suffer!

sure you can still get a car loan, but you will have to pay an arm and a leg in interest alone.
